Microdermabrasion in Wenatchee. WA

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions. The procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

What Happens During Microdermabrasion?

A microdermabrasion treatment uses a diamond-tipped wand and suction to exfoliate and smooth your skin. With this type of treatment, most people will not need a numbing spray as it’s lightly abrasive and smooths away only the first layer of skin. A dermabrasion facial is harsher on the skin, and a recommendation is only for those with fair complexions. If used on darker skin tones, dermabrasions can discolor or scar it. Microdermabrasion is much milder, and anyone can book this type of treatment.

Benefits of Microdermabrasion

Along with exfoliating skin, microdermabrasion can treat many skin conditions. Microdermabrasion for acne unclogs pores and clears skin with the help of glycolic peels and extracting white or blackheads. These treatments can speed up the clearing of your skin. We typically don’t recommend microdermabrasion for acne scars, but might suggest doing dermabrasion instead. Microdermabrasion for dark spots, blackheads, fine lines, and stretch marks can help reduce their appearance and make your skin softer once it recovers.
